Experimenters' Influence on Mental-Imagery based Brain-Computer Interface User Training

چکیده

Context: Motor Imagery based Brain-Computer Interfaces (MI-BCIs) enable their users to interact with digital technologies, e.g., neuroprosthesis, by performing motor imagery tasks only, imagining hand movements, while brain activity is recorded. To control MI-BCIs, must train activity. During such training, experimenters have a fundamental role, they motivate participants. However, influence had never been formally assessed for MI-BCI user training. In other fields, social psychology, gender was found experimental outcomes, behavioural or neurophysiological measures. Objective: Our aim evaluate if the influenced training i.e., performances and user-experience. Methods: We performed an experiment involving 6 (3 women) each 5 women men (60 participants) perform right versus left over one session. then studied user-experience, according experimenters’ subjects’ gender. Results: A significant interaction between participants’ on evolution of trial-wise performances. Another participants tension average Conclusion: Experimenters could depending tension. Significance: outcomes should be better controlled, reported further benefit from it preventing any bias.

A Study of Various Feature Extraction Methods on a Motor Imagery Based Brain Computer Interface System

Introduction: Brain Computer Interface (BCI) systems based on Movement Imagination (MI) are widely used in recent decades. Separate feature extraction methods are employed in the MI data sets and classified in Virtual Reality (VR) environments for real-time applications. Methods: This study applied wide variety of features on the recorded data using Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) classifie...

Neurofeedback-based motor imagery training for brain-computer interface (BCI).

In the present study, we propose a neurofeedback-based motor imagery training system for EEG-based brain-computer interface (BCI). The proposed system can help individuals get the feel of motor imagery by presenting them with real-time brain activation maps on their cortex. Ten healthy participants took part in our experiment, half of whom were trained by the suggested training system and the o...

Effect of instructive visual stimuli on neurofeedback training for motor imagery-based brain-computer interface.

Event-related desynchronization (ERD) of the electroencephalogram (EEG) from the motor cortex is associated with execution, observation, and mental imagery of motor tasks. Generation of ERD by motor imagery (MI) has been widely used for brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) linked to neuroprosthetics and other motor assistance devices. Control of MI-based BCIs can be acquired by neurofeedback traini...
